S2: Ep3 Reframing Your Mindset Around Being Single with Shani Silver

In the garden today Shani Silver joins Maegan to discuss a new way of looking at being single. Society today has such a bad stigma around being single and one of the main reasons we stay with a Narcissist. We also tend to repeat patterns of dating one narcissist to another because we don’t like being alone or single. Maegan and Shani discuss empowering yourself to live your best single life and reframe your mindset on being single.

Shani Silver

Hello, I’m Shani Silver, a writer based in Brooklyn.

I host A Single Serving Podcast and I am the editor of Atta Girl. If you’d like to read my work, Medium is the best place to start, though The Single Girl Syllabus is also nice.

I created A Single Serving Podcast because I believe single women deserve more than dating content. Dating content reiterates to us (endlessly) that we’re wrong, bad, pathetic, desperate, or lacking something by not having a partner. This creates a lot of single misery that we don’t deserve. Singleness isn’t something that’s wrong, but society’s shaming of single women most certainly is.

I’m interested in women living authentic, full, happy lives where “finding someone” is not our primary purpose—we are our primary purpose. I look forward to being in a wonderful relationship, I just refuse to be miserable in the meantime.
